Mannequin

'Mannequin' features photomontages of close-up shots of a wooden artist’s mannequin. In an era obsessed with authenticity and finding one's 'true self', the series questions whether relentless introspection might actually distance us from real experiences. In our quest to understand who we truly are, we risk becoming mere observers of our own existence, perpetually preparing to live rather than living.

Perhaps the search for identity has become a modern myth – a narrative that promises fulfilment but keeps us endlessly waiting. Like the mannequin - eternally mutable, forever between states – we may exist most authentically in our potential for change rather than in any fixed identity. What if life is happening not in the mirror of self-reflection, but in the moments when we stop trying to define who we are?
